Our Restaurants at Les Prés dʼEugénie
The Restaurant Michel Guérard has held three Michelin stars since 1977. It also holds 4 Toques in the Gault & Millau and is a member of Les Grandes Tables du Monde. The restaurant is one of the two starred dining venues at the 5-star Palace Les Prés d’Eugénie, Relais & Châteaux, the other being L’Orangerie (1 Michelin star since 2025).
In the kitchen, following in the inspired footsteps of Michel Guérard, chef Hugo Souchet and the Eugénie brigade now orchestrate the cuisine. Christine and Michel Guérard, founders of the restaurant and Les Prés d’Eugénie in 1974, have handed over the artistic direction of the Maison to their daughters, Adeline and Éléonore Guérard.
The cuisine of the Restaurant Michel Guérard is described as “naturalist”: it blends great French tradition, naturalness, poetry, and creativity. Among the signature dishes mentioned on the site: the Young Pigeon from Vielle-Tursan “in Woodcock style”, the Lobster “Tourne-Feu”, the diaphane Dim sum “under the foam”, the Asparagus “Queen of the Landes”, the lacquered Foie gras over embers, and the Marquis de Béchamel’s “Cloud” dessert. A cuisine born from the fireplace embers, celebrating the beauty of Aquitaine and French terroirs. Michel Guérard is also the creator, in 1975, of Grande Cuisine Minceur, a pioneering gastronomic concept.
Three menus are offered: the Palais Enchanté menu (the full 9-course signature tasting menu), the Jour de Fête menu (7 courses), and the Retour des Champs menu (4 courses). Each menu follows a ritual orchestrated as a culinary journey, served in the Historic Salons of the Empress, a true “living museum” of the Maison. For the other restaurants at Les Prés d’Eugénie, consult the Les Tables page.
The Restaurant Michel Guérard welcomes its guests in the Historic Salons of the Empress. In low season (from March to mid-July and from late August to December): every evening except Monday and Tuesday, as well as Saturday and Sunday lunch. In peak summer season (from July 17 to August 27): lunch from Thursday to Sunday, and every evening for dinner except Monday. The Maison closes for a few weeks in winter.
L’Orangerie has been starred in the Michelin Guide since 2025 (1 star). It is one of the two starred dining venues at the 5-star Palace Les Prés d’Eugénie, Relais & Châteaux. The other is the Restaurant Michel Guérard, which has held three stars since 1977. This double Michelin distinction on a single estate is rare in France.
L’Orangerie offers simple, elegant, country-style, or “healthy” cuisine. Guests enjoy a lovely seasonal menu tinged with multiple nuances. The restaurant’s motto: “beautiful beasts, beautiful plants… or how to feast on everything Nature offers us, in its elegant simplicity.” The menu is structured around five complementary sections (see next question).
What menus does L’Orangerie offer? L’Orangerie’s menu features five sections:
La Grille: exceptional meats and fish, simply grilled over the fireplace, for the taste of a noble product in its simplest form.
The “Terroir Sublime” Menu: sprinkled with Michel Guérard’s Great Classics, delightfully paired with the estate’s wines.
The Grand Chariot des Desserts d’Eugénie: a magical object concealing a thousand and one gourmet desserts under its large silver bell.
La Cuisine de Santé: the Maison’s “Best-Seller” since the 1970s, a “Healthy” menu as light as it is delicious (see dedicated question below).
“Chic nibbling” cuisine: perfect for guests staying several days at the Maison: smoked foie gras, seasonal greens, etc.
L’Orangerie welcomes its guests in the heart of the Grande Maison, within a luminous winter garden:
Every day, Monday to Sunday, for both lunch and dinner, featuring Cuisine de Santé exclusively (upon prior reservation).
Full menu at dinner: Wednesday to Sunday.
Full menu at lunch: Saturday and Sunday.
Peak summer season (mid-July to late August): dinner from Tuesday evening to Sunday evening with the full menu; lunch from Thursday to Sunday.
At La Ferme aux Grives, the cuisine is alternately rustic and bourgeois, always seasoned with a touch of mischief—the playful trademark of the Maison. It is the Auberge of Les Prés d’Eugénie, celebrating iconic recipes of the Gascon terroir in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The soul of the restaurant lies in its immense fireplace. Fine Landes chickens and a small suckling pig roast peacefully in the giant hearth where the chefs also cook. Meanwhile, a baker’s oven prepares macaroni gratins with ceps and long-braised meats. The table highlights iconic recipes of the Gascon terroir. For the complete seasonal selection, check the La Ferme aux Grives Seasonal Menu.
La Ferme aux Grives is a “regional institution” that houses, between its thick stone and Adour pebble walls, an immense fireplace where golden suckling pigs and large Landes chickens gently roast. The atmosphere is Gascon and robust, the service warm, and a lovely vegetable garden extends the spirit of the place. An atmosphere described as “a set design worthy of Cyrano de Bergerac.”
La Ferme aux Grives is open every day from Friday to Tuesday and closed on Wednesday and Thursday. From mid-July to mid-August, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day, except all day Wednesday and Thursday lunch. The Maison closes for a few weeks in winter (January and February).
Café Mère Poule is the culinary café and country tea room of Les Prés d’Eugénie, Michel Guérard’s famous Maison in the Landes. It is a warm and gourmet spot combining the spirit of an old-fashioned village café, a cozy tea room, and a lifestyle boutique.
The café welcomes you from Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM (and on Wednesdays starting at 9:30 AM depending on the season). It is recommended to check the annual opening periods (generally from spring until late autumn).
